This race is undecided

Friends,

If you’ve looked at the polling on California’s governor’s race, you’ll notice something interesting. Headlines report that Kamala Harris is “leading” the California governor’s race.

There’s just two problems: Kamala isn’t even running and 50% of respondents don’t want her to.

That tells you everything you need to know about the state of this race.

The real frontrunner in this poll: A massive 39% of voters who are undecided.

And that’s exactly where we come in.

Under California’s Top Two primary system, we don’t need to win the whole field—we just need to place second.

Taking second place in the primary means the Democratic nominee loses the Republican boogeyman they love to run against. They’ll have to compete – probably for the first time in their political life – purely on their policies and their record.

That’s how we break the stranglehold of corporate politics.

And the margins aren’t out of reach. In 2022, the second-place finisher made the runoff with just 17.7% of the vote. In 2018, it was 25.1%.

That’s the window we’re aiming for—and the voters we’re organizing to reach.

But here’s the thing: we can’t just wait around for the press to notice what we’re building. We need to show them.

That’s why we’re launching a renewed push to fund polling of our own—to help educate voters about the truth of the issues and the candidates behind them.

Then we start making noise, get picked up by more local and national media, and earn our spot on the debate stage.

Because let’s be real: they don’t want Butch on that stage.

When Butch speaks, he doesn’t mince words. He doesn’t play nice with billionaires or bend to party bosses.

He tells the truth the two-party system doesn’t want voters to hear—and that terrifies them.

So instead of honest debate, they build walls.

They hide behind “viability thresholds” and polling minimums—barriers designed not to measure leadership, but to silence it.

They want politics to stay a game of musical chairs among insiders, where nobody new ever gets a seat.

That’s why this polling push matters so much.

It doesn’t just tell us where we stand—it breaks the glass on a rigged system and forces the political class to take us seriously.

Solidarity,
