The Democrats built this mess. Don’t let them pretend to clean it up
Friends,
This week, Butch sat down with Tavis Smiley on KBLA and said what most politicians are too cowardly to even whisper:
The Democratic Party built the political machine that delivered Trump to us—then turned around and expected applause for pretending to resist it.
They propped him up. Hillary Clinton literally wanted to run against him. National Democrats funneled money into extremist GOP campaigns thinking they’d be easy to beat—and then they lost.
That’s how we ended up here: in an authoritarian nightmare of their own making.
Or to use Butch’s words: “They’ve been throwing gasoline on this fire, and now they want to be firefighters.”
To see more of Butch’s powerful commentary, you can listen to the full interview here.
Let’s be honest, this isn’t about one man in the White House.
It’s about the cynical Democratic strategy, moral cowardice, and systemic sellout that led us here—and the political establishment’s total refusal to take responsibility.
Gavin Newsom is a perfect case study.
He talks tough about shielding Californians from Trump’s tariffs—even though he knows he has zero mechanisms or authority to do so.
It’s an empty soundbite for his inevitable presidential campaign, nothing more.
Gavin has the gall to be out here bragging that he’ll veto SB 1050—a bill that would’ve stopped the state from profiteering off ICE detention.
Meanwhile, our friend and ally in Pomona, immigration lawyer Jaime Gutierrez just secured the release of 19 Pomona students who had been detained for protesting the genocide on the Pomona College campus.
Gavin’s schtick is not resistance. It’s collaboration, packaged for prime time.
Butch doesn’t play those games. That’s why he’s running with the Green Party—not to tweak the broken machine, but to dismantle it.
This duopoly has ruled for decades by selling out workers, privatizing public goods, and criminalizing dissent.
They’ve handed our democracy to billionaires and called it strategy. And now they wonder why the country is on fire.
This campaign isn’t about introducing new players. It’s about changing the game entirely.
In solidarity,
Jason Call
