The book deals come after the bombs
Friends,
This week, two former servants of empire stepped forward to try to clear their names.
Matt Miller, who spent months defending Israel’s brutal attacks on Gaza, finally admitted Israel has “without a doubt” committed war crimes.
And Karine Jean-Pierre, Biden’s press secretary who gaslit the public while civilians were slaughtered, announced she’s now an “independent,” stepping away from the party she loyally served.
These are not acts of conscience. These are strategies.
They did not speak truth when it mattered. They did not resist. They defended the atrocities and waited for the smoke to clear before trying to wash their hands of blood.
This is how the two-party system of power works.
Commit the crimes, serve your time in power, then walk out the back door with a book deal and a clean conscience.
It’s happened time and time again.
Rahm Emanuel covered up the police murder of Laquan McDonald—then got promoted to Ambassador and is now floating a run for President.
Condoleezza Rice helped sell a war built on lies—then went back to Stanford and corporate boardrooms like nothing happened.
Henry Kissinger orchestrated coups, backed dictators, and helped slaughter millions in Southeast Asia, Latin America, and beyond. When he died, Democrats and Republicans alike called him a visionary.
The ruling class cleans up for its own and it’s our job to expose it.
Help us build a movement that will never defend genocide. That will never tell you war is peace or that silence is strength. Chip in now and fuel the only campaign in California ready to speak the truth without permission.
California is not just a backdrop to this fight, it is the battleground.
The same politicians who tepidly denounce violence abroad greenlight militarized sweeps of unhoused folks on our streets.
The same so-called leaders who march for climate justice sign deals with oil giants behind closed doors.
They talk about worker dignity on the stump and crush labor movements for gig workers at the Capitol.
They speak out of both sides of their mouths and the donor class understands every word.
But this campaign won’t play that game.
We’re not here to negotiate with power, we’re here to replace it. And we need everyone who’s done waiting to help us build the alternative.
Because this is the only state with the size, the strength, and the moral force to show the world that a better future is not only necessary—it’s already taking shape.
If you’re ready to be part of that future, if you believe in a movement that doesn’t reward silence or sell your conscience for a talking point, chip in now and help us keep building.
Peace and Power,
Butch Ware
