The Bay Area is breaking under Democratic rule

Earlier today an incomplete email was sent by mistake — here’s the full version.

Friends,

The newest Bay Area economic data shows that poverty in one of the wealthiest regions on earth surged from 12.2% to 16.3% in a single year.

More than a million residents fell below the line, and another 790,000 hovered inches above it.

Nearly 3 out of 10 people in a region filled with tech campuses, luxury towers, and billionaire estates struggled to cover food, rent, medicine, transportation, and basic survival.

And here is the most damning measure of all: California now shares the highest poverty rate in the entire United States alongside Louisiana.

That reality exists inside a state that ranks as the 4th largest economy in the world…

A state governed by a Democratic supermajority that tells the public it fights for working people…

A state led by politicians who campaign on equity, while the cost of groceries rose 17% in two years.

California’s Democratic supermajority has overseen an era where developers determined housing policy, corporate landlords expanded their portfolios, and families were pushed into cars, shelters, and tents.

They offered cover to utility giants whose failures burned communities, permitted insurers to flee entire regions, and upheld a system built around the priorities of tech billionaires, private equity, and real estate giants.

These choices created a California where 9 Silicon Valley households hold 15% of the region’s wealth, where 1 of every thousand residents possess 71% of all assets, and where full-time workers still fall into poverty because the cost of survival climbs beyond every paycheck.

In early September, our team visited San Jose and walked through the remnants of a cleared encampment only a short distance from the homes of billionaires.

We spoke with residents whose last belongings had been swept into trash trucks by the very institutions that claim to serve them.

We delivered food with community organizers who show up when government systems fail.

That visit revealed a truth no report or statistics can capture.

Families already pushed to the edge were treated as debris by a political order and a Governor in Gavin Newsom who campaigns on compassion while carrying out policies that erase the lives of their underserved and marginalized communities.

Our movement offers a path outside the corporate duopoly that engineered this crisis.

Together, we will reclaim state power for homes, healthcare, fair wages, and community-driven investment.

We will confront those who fed on our struggle, end their influence, and place essential services back in the hands of the people so justice becomes a lived reality.

Join this campaign and help us build the movement that working families have been waiting for.

Peace and Power,

Butch Ware
