TAKE ACTION: The American Labor Movement Must Stand with Palestine!

The working class has the power to stop the genocide.

Every 15 hours, two things happen:

  • The United States ships another load of weapons to Israel.

  • Israel kills 150–160 Palestinians in Gaza.

For 23 months straight, this cycle has repeated with U.S. weapons fueling the destruction.

Over 60,000 people are confirmed dead, with total fatalities estimated well above half a million people according to the method used by the medical journal The Lancet.

Even during a so-called “ceasefire”, Palestinians in Gaza are still being killed daily.

It’s clear that to the United States, a ceasefire means Palestinians cease, and Israel fires.

This isn't just a humanitarian crisis. It's an assault on workers everywhere.

From teachers to journalists to bakers, Gaza's working class is being systematically destroyed.

And when Chris Smalls, a Black man, and prominent labor organizer, tried to deliver baby formula on an aid flotilla, Israeli forces stormed the ship in international waters, abducted him, and beat him.

The working class has the power to stop this.

Dockworkers, truck drivers, and logistics workers can stop the flow of weapons. Unions can divest from war profiteers.

Rank-and-file members across the country are demanding action yet leadership at AFL-CIO (American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations) has stayed silent.

We have both the power and the responsibility to act.

Our demands to the AFL-CIO are clear:

1. Recognize Israel's campaign in Gaza as genocide under international law.

2. Condemn the abduction and assault of Chris Smalls aboard the Gaza aid flotilla and demand an independent international investigation.

3. Affirm that attacks on workers anywhere are attacks on all workers.

4. Recognize Israel as an apartheid state, consistent with Amnesty, HRW, the UN, and B'Tselem.

5. Take direct action: Refuse to ship weapons, cut ties with war profiteers, and mobilize union power to end genocide.

Here’s how you can help:

  1. Sign this petition to demand the U.S. labor movement recognize the genocide in Gaza, end complicity in arms shipments, and stand with Palestinian workers under assault.

  2. Join Chris Smalls on October 24 at 12:00pm at AFL-CIO headquarters (815 Black Lives Matter Plaza NW, DC) as he delivers our demands.

The time is now. We cannot allow our tax dollars — or our labor — to be used for mass atrocities.
