Last month, we gathered to reflect on the legacy of the Black Panther Party - their principles, their practice and the deep roots of community care as revolutionary action.

This month, as part of our continued Black August reflections, we turn to one of the most profound voices in the global struggle for liberation: Frantz Fanon.

Born 100 years ago in the French colony of Martinique and trained as a psychiatrist, no 20th-century thinker shaped liberation psychology more profoundly than Fanon. Far from being only a theorist, he left his clinical practice to join the Algerian revolution, helping lead the people to victory.

In this weekend intensive, we’ll turn to Fanon’s works, especially The Wretched of the Earth, to help us navigate the material and moral struggle against imperialism in our time.

We’ll examine Fanon’s explosive ideas and consider how we can apply them today. Whether you’re engaging with Fanon for the first time or revisiting with new questions, this seminar is designed to be both accessible and transformative.
